Oil Demo

This was done as a demo using the Zorn pallet. The limited pallet is a great way to introduce students to mixing color. It will limit their choices of colors and help them concentrate more on value- which is way more important! The Zorn is a 4 color pallet made up of: Cad. Red Light, Yellow Ochre, Ivory Black, and Titanium White.

Gouache Studies From The Masters

These pieces were done as demos for a Gouache Studies From The Masters class. This class was great! It's the first time we ran this class at the school, and it's one of the most fun classes I ever taught. Unfortunately we only had about 4 students in the class, hopefully we'll try and run this again in the future. These are from top to bottom: Frazetta, Dean Cornwell, Alphonse Mucha.

These were short studies done in oil. My goal was to get familiar with how to paint various textures.
